Success Story Of My Dad’s Life Journey.. | by Hayden Brooks | Aug, 2025

This is the real story of my dad how he managed to achieve success from complete zero and gave everything to our family. I want to start from his childhood.
My dad was born in a small village in South Gujarat. The family condition was poor, and to make things worse, my dad’s parents went through a divorce. My dad’s mom went back to her parents’ house. The reason for divorce was that my dad’s dad fell in love with another woman and married her. They already had 4 kids, but he didn’t take any responsibility or give financial support.
My dad’s mom had to face a lot of criticism at her parents’ home, which affected her mental health badly. Slowly things got worse, and even today her mental health is not good – she doesn’t even know that my dad is married and has a son.
My dad have 3 sisters. When the eldest sister got married, her husband helped them a lot. Because of his help, they got education. While working, my dad also joined college. Later they moved to the city and lived in a small house.
When my dad was young, life was hell. His aunt used to beat him and his siblings a lot. She would even hide milk so they couldn’t drink it. At age 13 or 14, when kids were playing, my dad had to go work in the farms. He had no shoes, no proper food, and constant torture from his aunt.
But slowly life started changing. My dad was working with a lawyer as a typist, and that lawyer suggested him to do one course to get a stable job. Around age 31 or 32, he got his first government job. By that time, my dad was already married to my mom, and I was also born.
He worked very hard and cracked a government exam. Thanks to God, he got the job, and slowly our family’s life started getting better. Even though he didn’t have parents’ support, he always took full responsibility and worked honestly.
But life is never only smooth. In 2018, things turned bad. My dad was working in the Department of Director General of Police, Prisons and Correctional, in a very respected position. My dad never took bribes, but because he suspended a corrupt officer, that officer made false complaints against him. As revenge, my dad got transferred to a bad office where he had no respect.
That was a very tough time for us. At the same time, I was also struggling with gaming addiction, so we were facing many problems together. When my dad asked his seniors why he was transferred, no one answered. Nobody supported him. This is the reality of government jobs – if you are honest, you get punished, while the corrupt people stay safe.
My dad passed all his exams but still didn’t get promotion. It’s been 7 – 8 months and no one gave a reason why. That’s really sad.
But today, in 2025, we are very happy. Financially we are stable, and I think my dad is very successful. Success doesn’t mean how much money you have – success means how hard you worked and what challenges you faced to give happiness to your family. By that definition, my dad is more successful than many millionaires and billionaires.
I am very proud of him. This is a short version of his story. If people want, I will write a full book about his life.
In reality, India is developing only in big cities. In small villages, life is still very hard, and honest people have to struggle even more against those who drag them down. My dad is living proof of how honesty, hard work, and patience can change life.
