A few weeks ago, we, the students of SMA Unggulan Rushd were invited to meet a storyteller named Mr. Roger Jenkins. He told us that storytelling isn’t just about telling an ordinary story — it also needs emotion, expression, and energy to make it more engaging. His performance was very entertaining for all of us.

Mr. Jenkins also invited several students to imitate animal sounds such as a gecko, a frog, and others. He even played a fun storytelling rhyme game, where everyone joined in and repeated what he said as part of the story.

For us, it was a rare and unforgettable moment that helped us understand the true meaning behind the word “storytelling.” We laughed, felt happy, and the whole atmosphere in the hall was cheerful and full of positive energy.

Mr. Jenkins also shared that anyone who wants to be a storyteller needs to show pure and emotional expression that matches the story being told.

From this experience, we learned the real purpose of storytelling — it’s not only about telling a story but also about expressing feelings and respecting the storyteller’s creativity.

This event was truly beneficial for us as students, for our teachers, and for everyone in the school who had the chance to watch it that day.
