Resist yourself: You know the Problem, it’s you | by Elistan D. | Jul, 2025

Well, I would start with myself first. I used to feel lazy and procrastinate, despite being full of ideas, talking to myself, and dreaming of success, all while lying in bed watching YouTube Shorts and listening to music. In the back of my mind, I knew full well that what I was doing was wrong, and I should be doing some work or studying.
One day I said to myself ok that’s enough, lets fix it – That’s the first step or so i thought, I took a piece of paper and a pen and stared at it, not knowing what to write on it or where to begin as if my mind got frozen, so i just threw the paper aside and went on procrastinating, this happened few times back and forth. In contrast, the paper remained empty, but one day I wrote …
1. Leave the bed and use the desk
and went back to doing nonsense things, hmm do you thought its that easy to overcome insecurities, procrastination, laziness and depression or like other article I will miraculously improve nope it’s not easy to improve, but as the time start passing down the guilt started to collect so i sat on the chair and put my tablet on the desk and start reading some novels, articles, etc All for sake to at least satisfy myself and remove the guilt that I tried. Still, the realisation struck that four hours had gone by. I am doing things which I usually don’t like, so I took the paper a wrote down many rules that you have seen many places like exercise, focus, posture, etc you get the point but after many trail and errors I came do to a conclusion that what matters the most is a motive for me it was guilt, for you it could be anything; a strong Conviction to do something.
After you achieve the motive, the next is your body; even if you had a strong motive, you cannot fulfil it without a working body, so it’s again what everyone says: you might hate it now, but it does. Eating healthy, exercising, and maintaining good posture will help in the long term, so start early.
Here’s a TL;DR: To become more productive and improve, follow these steps.
Get a motive, something you would obey
Separate your sleeping and eating place from work (get a desk)
Eat healthy, avoid oil, and junk
Let the fresh air and sunlight in
Exercise and maintain posture
If the problem is you, only you can fix it. Remember, even Rome was not built in a day. Take it slowly and easy step by step and with enough conviction, even mountains can be moved.
