Hi everyone, I’m so grateful for the love I’m receiving from you all. I never imagined so many people would like my articles. Each post and comment means so much to me. Today, I’m going to tell you a true story from my life. Whenever I think about it, I still feel a wave of fear.

It was December 2022. My husband, Maddy, and I were going to Florida for Christmas. We had been married for a year at the time. We were very excited about this vacation and had already planned two months in advance how we would enjoy our trip to Florida.

We took a 3:27 PM flight from Los Angeles and arrived in Miami at 9:40 PM. It was late at night, so we checked into the hotel and fell asleep around 11 PM. I woke up in the morning and realized my husband hadn’t booked a car. Since we hadn’t booked a rental car in Miami, Maddy booked one for herself. Around 10 AM, we left the hotel for Bayside Marketplace, the tourist spot closest to our hotel.

We had only gone two miles from the hotel when a speeding truck hit our car from behind. I lost consciousness, and when I woke up, I was in the hospital. I regained consciousness after about two hours and learned that I had a serious head injury. The first thing I did when I woke up was ask the doctor about Maddy. The doctor told me she was fine but had a fracture in her leg.

I thanked God we were okay. It took both of us about six months to recover. I still get nervous when I think of that day. We haven’t been to Miami since. I will never be able to forget that day in 2022.
