Hi everyone, my name is Mateo Rivera and I am new to Medium. This is my second article on this platform. But I don’t have a single follower yet. I thought that when I published my first article, at least 10 people would like it and follow me, but that hasn’t happened yet. So far, I haven’t written anything special that would attract people to my content or make them follow me. I will do my best to present the best content possible.

I hadn’t written on any platform before, not even blogs or social media — Medium is my first attempt. A friend encouraged me to write on Medium. I’m incredibly grateful for his excellent advice. When I read some of the writers’ articles, I learned the difference between AI and real writers. I’ve especially come to appreciate the writing style of Tim Denning and Thomas Oppong. Their writing style is unique and truly heart-touching. They choose words so well that it’s impossible to resist reading the entire article. However, I haven’t been able to read most of their articles because they’re hidden behind paywalls.

I’m new to Medium, so I’ll first observe how the platform works, and once I reach 100 followers, I’ll upgrade from free to premium. However, my initial goal is just to reach 100 followers. I know it’s not easy, but I’ll still try my best. After an eight-hour day at work, I don’t feel like writing when I come home, but slowly, my interest in writing is growing. Ever since I read these two writers’ articles, I’ve been wondering if I’ll ever be able to write on topics that people will enjoy.

I’m considering joining Substack in addition to Medium. But I don’t have that much time right now. My mother is elderly, and my father passed away two years ago. When I get home, I also take care of my mother. Bills and medical expenses are constantly rising, but my income remains the same. But when I read some articles that said that some new writers are also earning more than $500 on Medium, I thought, “Why not give it a try?”

I have published 2 articles today, and my target is that every day after coming home from work at night, I will take out some time to publish at least one article and read some articles so that my knowledge can also increase.
