In 2023, I led a very routine life — going to the gym, college, and temple, and repeating the same cycle every day. It was a structured routine, and I was confident. Confident to a point where I started becoming overconfident, maybe even a little egoistic.

Fortunately or unfortunately, in June 2024, the company I worked with asked me to visit Madurai — around 500 km away from where I live. I was supposed to stay there for a week. I initially hesitated because I wouldn’t be able to go to the gym (might sound silly, still). In fact, I had already searched for a gym in Madurai and paid for one week pass before I was provided with bus ticket or room details by the company.

Still, I was anxious about how I would manage alone without my usual food or routine. Surprisingly, once I reached, I felt free — and humbled. Every face was new. I had to talk to people to find my gym. I even made friends outside of work.

I realized I was being forced to be humble, and that made people more open to helping me. Trust me, people love to help. Most people atleast.

Since then, I’ve started traveling alone regularly, and that always keeps me humble. But eventually, I began leaning too much to the other side — becoming too humble, to a point where I started losing confidence in myself. I was too fluid, adapting to everything, but forgetting my own values and habits.

Now, I’ve found the perfect balance between exploration and routine.

Exploration came to me through travel. For others, it might come through reading new books, learning new skills, or applying for new jobs.

Whatever it is — always explore.
We’re lucky to have countless things to discover in this world. You’ll never run out of things to learn, people to meet, or cultures to experience.

Exploration will keep you humble. Routine will keep you confident.
Find the right balance, and you’ll truly enjoy life.

Confidence gives you the strength to move forward.
Humbleness reminds you there’s always more to learn.

Hope it helped!
