Two years ago, Zara left her home in Pakistan with a dream shared by many expatriates: to achieve financial independence and support her family from afar. The UAE, a land of opportunity and growth, seemed like the perfect place to turn those dreams into reality.

But reality hit hard. Finding a stable job proved to be an uphill battle. “Many companies were uncooperative regarding visas and salaries,” Zara recalls. This uncertainty forced her into a cycle of financial strain that soon spiraled out of control.

Unable to secure timely payments, Zara faced mounting debts and fines for overstaying her visa. “I had to take a loan and went deep into debt,” she admits candidly.

Yet, Zara’s spirit remained unbroken. Determined to overcome her situation, she juggled two jobs and worked up to 17 hours a day. Each day, she persistently urged her employer to process her visa, hoping for a breakthrough. “I worked tirelessly to pay off my debts and keep moving forward,” she says.

Despite limited support from friends or family in the UAE, Zara’s resilience shone through. “A friend helped me find a job, but financially, I had to rely on myself,” she shares.

Her visa remains unprocessed, and the weight of financial obligations has forced her to put her dreams on hold. “I had so many plans — traveling, building a better life — but debt and delays have held me back,” she confides.

What fuels Zara’s determination in the face of adversity? “I believe this difficult time will pass soon,” she says with quiet hope.

To others walking a similar path, Zara offers heartfelt advice: “Never lose hope. Work hard on yourself. If God has brought you here, He has better plans for you.”
