Confessions of a Massage Therapist: #001
In reflexology, the body is mapped out on the hands and feet. It’s a good way to figure out the body. I was never trained in a detailed session, but somewhat of the basics during my schooling.
During a session, on the right foot where the ascending colon was mapped, there was congestion. Telling me that the client had just recently eaten prior to her massage. She had confirmed this. She was shocked that her foot gave that away.
She ended up going home afterward, and her boyfriend had asked how her massage was.
“I dont think I can get on John’s table again” she stated to him. He was confused by this.
“What happened?” he had asked.
“He read my feet.” she explained. “What does that mean?” he pressed. She was still not clarifying anything.
“It means that he massaged my feet, and he knew I ate before the massage. What if I go back in and he touches my foot and he knows that I’ve had sex.” she expressed. Which, when she had told me all of this later, we just laughed at it.
Now, some time later, she’s cutting a clients hair, and her client had asked about that massage guy, aka me. “John? It’s kind of hard to explain, John. You have to try him out to understand. However, if there is something you don’t want him to know, don’t let him massage your feet.” she warned her. Then, she went into telling her story of her foot massage and me “reading” her feet.
Now, we fast forward to her client coming in. She introduced herself and told me that her hairstylist recommended me, etc. She undresses and gets on the table, and I knock out the massage. When I went to un-drape the leg, I noticed the client had left her socks on. I had a feeling that she was given a heads up about the foot massages and proceeded skipping the feet.
After the client got off and I sent her on her way, I reached out to the hairstylist. I have to admit, I was a little worried that she may have freaked the client out about me “reading feet”, so I had asked if she told her client about the reflexology, and she admitted that she had. “Why, what happened?” She asked.
“She left her socks on.” I explained.
“OH, wow. She must have been hiding something juicy.” she finished, which made me just laugh on the way she had said it.
