“A Tiny sister, A Teacher, A Mom — And still studying!! | by Cs Divya | Introvert Diary | Aug, 2025

Before I begin, “Happy Birthday to my sweet sister”. Today is her birthday, hence I have decided to write about her. She is younger than me, yet she’s an inspiration. Yes, she inspires me every single day with her patience.
Honestly, we never roamed out together. We never partied together. We never even watched movies as a pair. We always had our own cirlces of friends, and our own ways of having fun. But there’s one thing that binds us tighter than any of these activities, which is — gossiping.
Yes, we might not be the ‘picture-perfect’ sisters doing fancy things together, but we are the ones who sit, talk and laugh until our stomach hurts. She seems too silent but she carries a good sense of humour. Silent people are always the culprits. At times, our mom joins us and we talk like gossiping queens.
Since I was the elder one, I had few privileges. Like, everyone used to drop me at school and I was never even allowed to ride a bicycle on my own. Now, I understand why I didn’t know driving. She on the other hand, used to goto school on a bicycle. That’s what I now called ‘Independency’ which I knew after growing up. Back then, I felt privileged and now I laugh at myself ( laughing in a sarcastic way) in fact, cry.
We are different in so many ways. My sister is an introvert, while I am the chatterbox. She is reserved, calm, and opens up only to a few. But I am the one she shares everything to, fully. Though she is younger, I have always respected her deeply. Because, life has it’s own way of showing how incredible people become.
She completed a double degree, became a teacher at our own school, where we both studied together. Later, she was married and had a kid, hence there was a career-break. Yet she didn’t give up. She took home tuition, even during her busiest phase.
And now, she’s back with a boom!! She’s pursuing her Bachelor of Education in order to give a final touch to re-start her teaching profession.
And believe me, it’s not easy. She picks her daughter up from school after her college hours, then drops her at Dance and Music classes and picks her up again. By the way, she also learnt to ride scooty. She finishes off her assignments on time, amidst the busy schedule.
And beyond her studies and career, she has another gift. She cooks delicious food!! Even something as simple as cutting vegetables turns out into an art when she does it. Sometimes, I even joke at her — saying, I can build a temple with the patience she carries. Honestly — I mean it !!!
Over-all she’s my ‘warrior of inspiration’ more than a sister.
Even though she’s younger than me, I truly admire her determination. I realised that, “age has nothing to do with wisdom”.
Happy Rakshabandhan, Happy Friendship day, and Happy Birthday dear — Anusha!
