24 life lessons I learnt at 24!. What’s even life without its… | by Harsheen Kamboj | Aug, 2025

It’s been a long time since I last came here and wrote, two months to be precise.
Life took some unexpected turns that required me more than ever, so I obliged life’s demands and redirected my focus accordingly.
But in the middle of all the chaos, I recently turned 24, and although I haven’t lived long enough to offer you age-old pieces of advice,
I have nonetheless gathered life experiences that have taught me some valuable life lessons.
Here’s what they look like:
- Never revert while being in anger
- It’s okay to outgrow a friendship that either drains you or doesn’t put in enough effort
- Live your life in seasons—some are meant for hustling, while others are just to rest
- Have hobbies in life; they make adulting easy
- Self-reflection is the only way (and the easiest one) you can break your generational traumas.
- The moment you stop learning, you stop earning
- Don’t let people make you feel you don’t belong
- Let go of the victim mentality by fixing things yourself. Nobody owes you anything
- Stop seeking external validation, it doesn’t pay your bills!
- Stop seeking perfection; instead, just start; things eventually become perfect.
- If you keep coming back to the past, you can never move towards the future
- There are no shortcuts, no free lunches in life; work hard for things you want
- Everything you truly want will be found on the way to the top, not at the top. The journey is more important than the destination
- Have crazy faith in yourself, the world will always try to pull you down
- Motivation is an overrated concept. Build discipline and see it beat motivation always
- Stay away from drama and negativity; the sooner you do it, the better your life’s quality will be
- Time is your most valuable asset. Period.
- Don’t give up on your dreams. You may slow down for a while, but never stop working for your dreams
- Your success depends on a lot of factors that are out of your control; instead of worrying about them, focus on things that you can control
- Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it—your reaction matters more!
- Learn about personal finance and taxes as soon as you can; you will thank me later!
- Choose your circle wisely. It can either make or break your life
- Privacy is a blessing. Not everybody needs to know your goals or your failures. As they say, work in silence and let your success make the noise.
- You get what you asked for
Those were some of the lessons I have learnt from the pool of life challenges thrown at me. As I look back and reflect, I wonder how incomplete life would have been if not for these challenges and what I have learnt through them.
A sucker for understanding life better, I would love to know the biggest life lesson you want to share with a 24-year-old.
Comment them down, and I shall be pondering all over them!
