Lumebox
Lumebox is the name of the leading portable Red Light Therapy device that provides both red and near infrared light. Lumebox is registered with the FDA as a Class II medical device, meaning it meets regulatory standards for safety and performance.
Lumebox doesn’t claim to treat any disease condition, its focus is on supporting skin rejuvenation, improving blood flow, and temporary pain relief.
Lumebox is:
- Independently tested
- Has a long battery life
- Low EMF
- Safety tested and certified
- 80% more irradiance than leading brand
Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, provides therapeutic results by penetrating the skin at a cellular level with red and near-infrared light. This helps optimize cellular function and blood flow.
Red light is essentially causing a biochemical effect in the cells, which causes them to make more energy. More energy means the ability to repair and rejuvenate which translates to looking better on the outside and feeling better on the outside.
Red light therapy is backed by 2000+ industry-wide studies. According to Stanford Medicine, “the effects of red light on biology date back to the 1960s, when a Hungarian scientist was investigating whether exposure to low levels would cause mice to develop skin cancer.” What was discovered was not skin cancer, but hair growth. This is what spawned studies on red light therapy and hair growth in humans.
While red light therapy has demonstrated positive benefits in a variety of areas, some of the strongest evidence points to hair regeneration and wrinkle reduction. Vasodilation or dilated blood vessels increase nutrient flow to different areas of the body including hair follicles and the skin.
Some studies suggest that red light therapy can help with temporary pain relief with the emphasis on “temporary.” Most chronic pain came back when red light therapy was stopped, however, I believe there are exceptions to every study!
Red light therapy also supports good moods and can keep seasonal affective disorders at bay during the winter months.
Lumebox Details
The Lumebox 2.0 delivers Red (660nm) and Near Infrared (850nm) wavelengths simultaneously from each bulb for maximum benefit. It has a portable design allowing it to easily be used on the go and has optional 6 and 12 minute timers.
Plus, it has been found to be more powerful and it’s 25% bigger than other portable devices, which means it can treat larger areas.
It comes with a carrying case, battery, A/C adapter, removable comfort-grip accessory and even protective eyewear. It is important to wear eye protection when using this device or any LED device.
Unlike tanning beds, red light therapy devices are safe and gentle on the skin.
The Lumebox can benefit almost everyone with a few exceptions:
- Those who are photosensitive.
- Those taking topical, oral, or injectable steroids.
- Those who have just had LASIK eye surgery.
- Those who are pregnant or lactating
To see the best results, consistency is key. Here is a dosing guide according to Lumebox:
For skin: RED mode (6 min at 6 inches, 22 mW/cm²) → Dose: 7.92 J/cm²
For joints: NIR mode (12 min at 1 cm, 140 mW/cm²) → Dose: 100.8 J/cm²
For red light therapy newbies, Lumebox recommends starting out at 2-3 minutes a few times a week, and gradually increasing as your body adapts.
Lumebox has a robust blog that is a great resource for all things Red Light Therapy and how to effectively use their device.
The Lumebox retails for $629.00 but if you use my link you will save $260 per unit!
How I Use My Lumebox
I use the Lumebox to help target specific areas of treatment like my thyroid gland, a scar, or a sore muscle. It has been great at helping target my thyroid specifically or providing quick relief from a paper cut or other flesh wounds.
I also use it when someone in my family gets sick, I find that it speeds up recovery time.
I take the Lumebox with me when I travel as well, because it’s kind of a jack of all trades in the wellness department.
While I’ve tried a lot of different bio-hacking devices that don’t live up to the hype, the Lumebox is different. It actually works.
