Tim wanted a mattress that was made with no harmful chemicals for his children. Here are some facts about what makes certifications important. The GOTS Certification (Global Organic Textile Standard) ensures that their mattresses are:
- Made from organically grown, harvested, and processed materials
- Manufactured in our facility in an environmentally and socially responsible way
- Labeled and stored in our facility in a way that is easily trackable
Similarly, the GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) certification ensures that the latex used in their mattresses is:
- Harvested from the sap of organic rubber trees
- Processed in an organic and environmentally friendly way
- Manufactured in our facility in a way that meets organic standards
Having the GOTS and GOLS Factory certifications means you can literally trace all materials back to the original farms and lots where they were grown. My Green Mattress is consistently audited to ensure that they are complying with the certification standards. I love knowing that My Green Mattress not only has these certifications but that they are routinely inspected. It gives me peace of mind as I’m sleeping at night. Plus, they are a family-owned factory, which I love supporting!
Besides their 3rd party certifications, I also like to see this list of chemicals they avoid in their mattresses:
- NO Chemical Flame Retardants or Flame Retardant Barriers
- NO Memory Foam or other forms of Polyurethane Foam
- NO Soybean or Biobased Foam (polyurethane foam with soybean oil mixed in)
- NO Harmful Glues or Chemical Adhesives
- NO GMO Cotton or other GMO fibers

The My Green Mattress Natural Escape strikes the perfect balance between plush comfort and supportive sleep, making it an ideal choice if you want a softer feel without sacrificing structure. With layers of organic cotton, temperature-regulating wool, and three inches of conforming organic Dunlop latex over a 7-zone pocketed coil system, it provides full-body support while staying cool all night. Both my husband and I noticed deeper, more restful sleep—no overheating, no back pain, and no frequent wake-ups (which says a lot for him). Despite its supportive design, it didn’t feel too firm, and it’s comfortable enough that a topper isn’t necessary right away, but maybe something I would consider in the future. Hand-tufted without toxic adhesives and free from flame retardants, fiberglass, and polyurethane foams, it’s a thoughtfully made, truly luxurious organic mattress that supports all sleep positions and body types.
